By now, most people, if not everyone has heard the tragic story of professional wrestler Chris Benoit, who in 2007, had done the unthinkable when he killed his family and then himself in a murder-suicide. The cause revealed to be an effect of Chronic Traumatic Encephalopathy (CTE), a progressive degenerative disease caused by severe or repeated blows to the head.

Matthew Randazzo V had written a book about Benoit entitled Ring of Hell: The Story of Chris Benoit and the Fall of the Pro Wrestling Industry. The book is now being adapted into a feature film that will be entitled Crossface, and the film has found its director in Lexi Alexander, a German-born former martial arts champion who gained fame as a filmmaker with her 2004 film Green Street Hooligans. She would go on to direct two more feature films, 2008’s Punisher: War Zone and 2010’s Lifted and has sporadically directed TV episodes since.

The script was written by Jake Goldberger and Sarah Coulter. Alex A. Ginzburg and Tony Lee will produce. As of now, it is unknown who will play Chris Benoit.
