Dustin Ferguson, one of the stalwarts on independent horror cinema, is planning a new Living Dead film with the support of co-creator John A. Russo. He has set up an IndieGoGo campaign for what will be called Rebirth of the Living Dead.
Following the events of both Night of The Living Dead and Return of The Living Dead, Rebirth of The Living Dead picks up nearly 50 years later in Los Angeles where “Trioxin Trash” is the new drug on the street. This “ultimate high” turns users into brain-craving Living Dead and it’s up to a lone Scientist and a young couple to uncover the cure before it’s too late.
Ferguson would serve as director and Russo would serve as a producer on the film. Ferguson would direct and producer the special features on the Return of the Living Dead Part II Blu-Ray and is the owner of the highly reported “lost cut” of Return of the Living Dead 3.
*Shooting had already begun on the film, so the funds from the campaign will help complete the film as intended by the filmmakers.
If you want to help Ferguson and Russo bring Rebirth of the Living Dead to life, here’s your chance. Go to the Rebirth of the Living Dead IndieGoGo campaign page and help make this happen today!
