It’s been 40 years since we were introduced to the Asian Hawk, Jackie Chan’s answer to Indiana Jones in the hit Armour of God. The film, perhaps known to have the stunt that almost literally killed Chan, would spawn two official sequels: 1991’s Operation Condor and 2012’s Chinese Zodiac.
Announced last year, official word has come that Chan will return for one final outing as the Asian Hawk with Armour of God IV: Ultimatum. While Chan took directing duties on the previous three installments, he will be handing the reins over to Kazakh director Robert Kun.
Now more good news has emerged as Chan announced that the film will begin production in July in Kazakhstan and Azerbaijan. It has also been discovered that in the film, Chan’s Asian Hawk will look for an ancient relic called the Tumar, which has a value of $20 million.
Chan has also mentioned that while this will be the first production with Kazakh producers, it will not be the last. He has more projects in the works to be filmed in the country.
One can only guess that we will get Armour of God IV: Ultimatum in 2027.
