A content creator brings her style to real-life in this horror-comedy from the team of Victor Bonacore and Erin Brown, who is amazing in the lead role.

Kitty Video is the founder of Kitty Media, an adults-only content company that specializes in the fetishization of violence. Joined by her partner Cam, the videos are simple: Cam plays the hapless romantic with Kitty the “vixen” who seduces and then “kills” Cam. However, what Kitty soon learns is that she is not the only game in town when it comes to content.

In the town of Silver Springs, content creators are reveling in their videos. However, Kitty, growing tired of what has been transpiring, decides to literally kill the competition. Donning a fox mask, she sneaks up on the creators and begins to kill them with the killings recorded on video. As the news reports on the murders, Kitty is still able to hide her identity. However, as the body count continues, Kitty’s line between her fantasy world and her killing spree slowly begin to blur.

From the duo of Victor Bonacore and Erin Brown comes this horror-comedy that is reminiscent to the shot-on-video genre of the 80s to 2000s and meshes it with today’s current events involving content creation. This would fit perfectly with the recently released OnlyFangs, which meshes the content creation and horror genres together. 

Brown is fantastic in the role of Kitty Video, the titular “video vixen”. The title comes as a double entendre. As a content creator whose specialty is adults only content, Kitty is seen as a “vixen”. However, the word is also referred to as a “female fox”. When Kitty goes on her killing spree, she sports a fox mask to unleash her rage, mostly via either throat slashing or stabbing. When Brown is making her videos with Cam, played by Bonacore, she exudes such sensuality with the fetish videos that she just looks both badass and beautiful at the same time. 

Kudos to Mal Macabre’s special FX work on the film, giving time to see the full extent of the kills, which are surprisingly not super gory, but enough to satisfy fans of the SOV genre of old. The more gore-ific of the kills comes when one victim has their throat not only slashed, but is given an instant tracheotomy. At a runtime of 62 minutes, the film goes by pretty quick and is definitely worth watching.

Video Vixen is a pretty good 62-minute film that meshes the aesthetic of classic SOV cinema with today’s content creation culture. Erin Brown is a joy to watch in this film as the titular “video vixen”. Worth the 62 minute run-time and will please indie horror fans.
