Domhnall Gleeson is going from The First Order and The Paper to becoming The Incomer, in a comedy-drama set for September.
A modern folk fairy tale set on a remote Scottish island, where two siblings survive by hunting seabirds, retelling the stories of their ancestors, and defending the isle from dreaded Incomers’. Their world is upended with the arrival of an awkward council worker who has come to uproot them from their homeland on behalf of the government.
The film recently won the 2026 Next Innovator Award at this year’s Sundance Film Festival. The film co-stars Gayle Rankin, Grant O’Rourke, Emun Elliott, Michelle Gomez, and John Hannah.
Written and directed by Louis Paxton, Sumerian Pictures will bring the film to theaters on September 25.
