Dubbed “the Woodstock of Gore” by director Guillermo Del Toro, FrightFest, set up in 2000, has grown in size and stature since its cult roots at the Prince Charles Cinema and today is internationally renowned for discovering exciting and original horror fantasy genre films and for supporting the talent behind them, helping to launch the careers of such directors as Simon Rumley, Christopher Smith, Eli Roth, Neil Marshall and Simon Hunter.

In late August, the Tubi Frightfest London will be held at the ODEON Leicester Square theater.

Big Baby (Spider One): Nightmares of a maniac killer in a baby mask inspire a writer’s new script. But as his life begins to spiral out of control, he discovers Big Baby’s murderous rampage may be more than fiction.

Electric Meat (Dan Schaffer): A photographer spirals into madness when a murdered model he’s adopted as his new muse decides she doesn’t want to stay dead.

Bad Karaoke (Chris Lightbody & Robert J. Steinmiller Jr.): When wedding band keyboardist Emily discovers an old karaoke machine in the back of a dive bar, she thinks it will lead to a fun-filled night of singing and bonding with her bandmates. Unfortunately, this karaoke machine seems to have a thirst for blood. When the singing begins, so does the bloodshed. When an excellent performance allows someone to be spared by the machine, the crew think they’ve figured out how to finally beat it. Proven almost immediately wrong, it takes more horrifying deaths and a visit from a mysterious stranger to realize they may have a chance at survival after all.
