A new action heroine is on the rise with this indie film that features the legendary Lady Dragon herself as a much needed ally in a war against nuclear terrorism.

In the mountains of Eastern Siberia, a cache of nuclear warheads have been stashed. However, a terrorist faction led by Viktor Reznikov plans to steal the warheads and unleash a massive attack. Russian intelligence, aware of the situation, have sent in one of their top operatives to prevent Reznikov from getting the warheads. Her name is Lyudmila Alekseyenko and her codename is “Snow Wolf”.

Learning that Reznikov has traveled to Los Angeles, Lyudmila travels there in hopes to get to Reznikov. However, when FBI director Brenda Sands also is hunting down Reznikov, she learns of Lyudmila’s arrival. As Lyudmila hunts down Reznikov’s men, Sands and her cohort Jackson soon realize that in order to stop Reznikov, she must join forces with Lyudmila, who knows the location of the base where the warheads are stashed.

With her appearances in The Wild West and Taken from Rio Bravo, it was clear that Tatiana Neva would soon be a face to look out for. And all it needed to take was that right project to make it happen. That project has finally come and it’s clear that this is a “passion project” for Neva. Not only is she the star of the film, but she also co-wrote, executive produced, edited, and even had some input in the fight choreography with her experience in martial arts and film fighting.

She brings a stoic yet strong performance as the “Snow Wolf” Lyudmila, who has been hired to take down the antagonist Reznikov, played by Gray Michael Sallies. Indie fight film fans will recognize him as the Church Fighter in the 2014 Z-Films action spectacle Die Fighting, where he gave Fabian Garcia a run for his money.

However, right from her first appearance in the film, we get to see what Neva is capable of in the fight department and no joke, she has what it takes. She has some pretty good kicking skills and even adds a little Capoeira handstand kick into another kick. She could be the next female action star indie films really need in a world where major actresses just train for roles, but following the likes of Amy Johnston and others, Neva is the latest in the line of those with skills to boot.

Joining her on the mission is a legend in her own right and that is none other than Cynthia Rothrock. As the tough FBI Director Brenda Sands, we see more of a straightforward acting role for the martial arts icon until the third act. This is when we see Rothrock in action mode as we see her first with firepower before having her own fight scene against two of Reznikov’s soldiers.

Co-director Benny Tjandra doubles as producer and heads the action unit of the film. Along with stunt coordinator Darren Holmquist, who also appears as one of Reznikov’s main goons and engages in a fight with Neva, the likes of the aforementioned Neva, and Sallies, along with others, all have a hand in the fight choreography. This just showcases the passion they have to make an indie action film worth watching and it delivers.

Prey of Wrath at a runtime of 79 minutes is a fun action film that definitely is a showcase for Tatiana Neva and when you have some excellent support in Cynthia Rothrock and other martial arts aces, then you know it’s going to be a wild ride!

The film is streaming on Xumo Play.
