After a successful crowdfunding, the sharks who wreaked havoc from the hot springs are invading Kyushu this time.
Hot Spring Shark Attack 2: Great Kyushu Showdown has unleashed its teaser trailer today with an official release date of September 4, 2026 set in Japan.
“A massive swarm of clone sharks rises from hot springs and volcanoes, leading to a jaw-dropping showdown that throws all of Kyushu into total chaos! The story follows a high school girl and her bond with an Onsen Shark.”
Filming commenced in June 2025 and now with everything set with Morihito Inoue returning to direct and work as VFX artist.
Utopia Distribution released the original film in the U.S. and here’s hoping they will pick up the sequel for a U.S. release because the original was fun as hell. This could be Japan’s answer to Sharknado!
