This documentary from the duo of Brad Abrahams and Simon Ennis delves into the world of various conspiracies and other strange theories through the eyes of those who believe in them.

In a world today where we are in the middle of various wars involving country vs. country and even internal conflicts for a variety of reasons, one thing has been at an all-time high, and that is the world of conspiracy theories. There are various beliefs among people, and what they believe is the truth is not always seen through the eyes of others. We meet some of those people here in this film and learn about their beliefs. 

We meet German-born musician Arcturus Ra, who has the belief that he is a reincarnated extraterrestrial known as a Starseed. He creates pendants that are “bioresonant” and sells them to customers. Justin Kohn, a special effects makeup artist and martial artist, believes that there are aliens but has the belief that they may have nefarious purposes and creates videos on how one would defend themselves against the threat. Mikki Willis created “Plandemic” as a film about anti-vaccination theories after denouncing them due to a personal tragedy involving a family member.

What many should know is that this documentary is in no way, shape, or form an attack on their beliefs and theories. While many will either agree or disagree with what they believe, it is more of “let them give their side of the story” and give them a voice. While these three stick to their convictions, one person discovers that not all conspiracy theories are right. We even get to see theorist Jon Ronson talk about the variois

That comes in the form of Erica Roach, who at first believed in the far-right conspiracy movement known as QAnon. However, she soon realizes, after seeing the actions of some fellow followers, that she must denounce the belief. She realizes that some of these theories can lead to very dangerous consequences and that’s something she no longer wants on her conscience. 

Gimme Truth gives those who believe in theories others generally do not agree with a voice. You might agree with their theories, but after this, you may definitely end up respecting them to give their side of the story. A fascinating look at theories and those who support them.

The film is seen as part of Hot Docs at Fantastic Fest.
